I have always had a talent for art, especially capturing the specific features of an individual's face. As early as fourth grade, my classmates would gather around me to have me draw small cartoon versions of them during study halls. It was my Sophomore year of high school when I was first introduced to charcoal. I used the medium for a project that involved drawing a friend of mine's picture. I drew her with realistic accuracy and decided to use my new found talent to create a Christmas present for my mom. I drew a charcoal portrait from a photo of me when I was a little girl. After that, it was my mom who encouraged me to start drawing custom charcoals for customers.

For over eleven years I have worked with people to turn their favorite photographs into art! I am a self taught artist and I enjoy every project I work on. I love the different subjects, the challenges of capturing their spirit, and the unique features that define their outer beauty. My favorite people to draw are the young and the elderly. Children have the best expressions! You can really see the mischief and innocence behind their smiles. The older generations have so much experience behind their eyes. It is a joy for me to watch my drawing bring that forward. I get to see so many beautiful moments and it is important to me that my charcoals are true to life.
